In which cases can I whistleblow?

You have the right to whistleblow about any misconduct in which there might be a public interest. For example, this means that your personal views on the management of the organization or your salary does not belong here. However, you can whistleblow about crimes or misconducts that you know or suspect are ongoing within the organization. Examples of this might be: bribes, violations of environmental or labour law or embezzlement. You can also whistleblow regarding misconducts that violates EU-regulations, for example the Data protection act.

Can I be anonymous?

Yes, we guarantee that you will be 100% anonymous throughout the entire process if you wish to be so. The investigator who will read your report will never be able to see who you are and all communication is encrypted.

Do I risk losing my job?

No, regardless of how you choose to whistleblow the law makes it very clear that you do not risk any form of reprisals or punishment. An employer who punishes an employee in any way would be breaking the law and risks be sentenced to pay damages. There are many examples of what can be considered a reprisal, among other things: termination, change of assignment, pay cut, or ostracism.

What happens when I have sent in my report?

You will be given a unique code that can be used to log in and keep track of your report. Your report will be sent to an investigator who will review it. You will have the opportunity to add more information or documents or answer questions that the investigator might have. You will be notified when the investigation is finished and you can take part of potential measures when logging in with your code.

Are there other ways of whistleblowing?

Yes, you choose how you want to whistleblow. You can always turn to a whistleblowing channel of an authority which you will find on their respective web page. These channels are available with a large number of authorities, such as the Swedish Work Environment Authority, Finansinspektionen, the Health and Social Care Inspectorate (IVO), the Swedish Tax Agency, the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY) and many others who are responsible for different parts of society.

Who will read my report?

A group of dedicated investigators will receive your report. They will work independently to investigate your report and take necessary measures. No one else within the organisation will be able to read your report and the investigators have an obligation to observe silence.
